Mid 20th Century Duncan Phyfe Style Mahogany Drop Leaf Pedestal Table by the Cha

A Duncan Phyfe style mahogany drop leaf pedestal table by the Charak Furniture Company, Boston, Massachusetts.
 
The rectangular top with a pair of lateral leaves, the frieze with a drawer and reeded corner terminals with turned finials, raised on a baluster turned and reeded pillar with quadruple splayed legs ending in brass paw finials and castors. 
The drawer bears the manufacturer’s title.
 
This handsome reproduction table is in beautiful condition. It is inspired in design by early nineteenth century English Regency furniture and that of American pieces from the same period. It is associated with the leading American designer and maker of that earlier era Duncan Phyfe.
 
Table is 33" wide with leaves down, 53.75" wide with leaves up.
